MY DNA
My grandfather built lenses for Zeiss. My mother worked as a photo laboratorian. Photography was, so to speak, laid in my cradle.
But first I became a journalist and made a career at the RTL Media Group from intern to producer. At the turn of the millennium, I left the TV business in order to realize my long-ripened wish of a longer trip and to find new inspiration for my further work.
Following my return to Germany, I started freelancing in 2005. In order to .bring my various creative activities onto a common label, I gave myself the label Medianautiker.
As a native Swabian (in Stuttgart) I live in Cologne since 1993 and work worldwide. My exact vita is known to XING, LinkedIn and the NSA.

HOW I WORK
I prefer to enter new territory and do there what I can already do here. So I move creatively between the lines and learn every day.
For me, image production is about moods and atmospheres with a focus on tidy aesthetics. When I photograph, I prefer to be inside the scene (>> immersive photography) rather than just beside it.
In this respect, my life works like street photography. There you never know what is about to happen in front of your camera. But for your point of view, your perspective, the settings of your camera and the click at the right moment only you are responsible. Then it depends on what you do with it.

HOW A GOOD PICTURE
IS CREATED
Before each production, I discuss in detail with my clients what they want to use the images for and what they want to achieve. This gives me the optimal input to ensure a successful individual production.
Because a good photo is of course created from a strong subject, but not least from the image composition, which includes, for example, the background as well as the play with light and shadow, sharpness and blur.
I like to photograph documentary, situational, spontaneous. That’s why I also have a soft spot for street photography. To adjust to the situation or to react to it, even if you are not prepared for it, that is the challenge.

COSTUMERS & TECHNOLOGY
My clients are digital agencies, SMEs, NGOs, corporations, solo self-employed, start-ups, artists…
In addition to my own clientele I work for photo agencies. My main areas of action are the genres of corporate, event, product, people and architecture. Next to this I work on own projects with a documentary and journalistic focus.
When I do professional photography and videography, it’s mostly with my Canon EOS R in Raw and possibly also JPG, with various lenses, lighting solutions and equipment for any kind of professional mobile photography and video production, including radio mics for interviews.

PHOTO TRAINER, GUIDE & BUDDY
Besides my activities as an active image producer, I am busy as a photo trainer in Cologne for the French company THE PHOTO ACADEMY and for the (in Cologne located) photo school FOTOKURSE KÖLN.
Then I give photo courses on contemporary topics such as image composition, black and white and street photography for smaller groups or exclusively for individuals.

MY PHOTO ART, PRINTS & NFT
Photos from free projects I offer as prints for purchase. These are, for example, street photography shots that tell a story in one frame.
The prints are available in various sizes and materials, for example, on canvas, on fine Hahnemühle paper; already framed ready to hang, with or without passe-partout. The production takes place individually and is of course also based on the ideas of interested parties.

Perhaps there are selected medianautical original works or files even soon as NFT. At the moment I am thinking about this possibility.
